Currently in the developmental stages, the Convolin is a novel digital string instrument. The concept is based on realtime convolution, utilizing the sampled reverb tails from other instruments combined with the string vibration captured by a contact microphone to create a unique tone. The neck contains keys used to define the pitch of the instrument, allowing the musician to play chords with a single string.
